About Us

We are a student organization on the UGA campus whose members are interested in veterinary medicine and gaining admission into vet school. Our organization meets every other week, and all UGA students, faculty, and staff are welcome to join. Our club activities aim to enhance knowledge and experience within the veterinary medicine field. Club activities include guest speakers, volunteer activities, philanthropic events, and field trips. We also help students prepare for the application process into vet school. The Pre-Vet Club at the University of Georgia is a great way to meet and work with fellow pre-veterinary students.

The Pre-Vet Club meets every other Monday at 7:30 pm in room H237 of the old vet school, which is on the corner of D.W. Brooks Drive and Carlton Street. There will be snacks and drinks available before the meeting begins. Click here for our meetings schedule. Hope to see you there!

Club Dues

Dues are $10 per semester and help to cover the costs of food and member activities. If you want to become an active member of the Pre-Vet Club, or already are and haven't paid this semester's dues, you will have until the 4th meeting to pay them or you will be removed from the active members list.

Active Member Requirements

In order to be an active member, you must:

  1. Pay dues - $10 per semester - by the 4th meeting
  2. Attend 4 of the 7 meetings each semester (be sure to sign in on the attendance sheet!)
  3. Participate in at least one member activity
  4. Participate in one mandatory fundraiser (only applies to spring semester) and at least one additional fundraiser
  5. Participate in at least one group/individual community service activity
As an active member, you will have access to the test bank and the listserv. The top 10 members will have the opportunity to participate in a wet lab with a UGA CVM veterinarian at the UGA vet school at the end of the semester. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity!

No Show Policy

We understand that situations arise in which you may not be able to make it to an event that you signed up for. However, when someone unexpectantly does not show up for a shift or event they have signed up for or cancels on the day of the event, it makes it much more difficult for those counting on that member and makes the club look irresponsible and inefficient. Therefore, you must notify the officer in charge of the event 24 hours in advance or find someone else to cover your shift. If you fail to do so, the points that would have been added to your active member total will instead be subtracted from your active member total.

Points System

Active members are able to earn points during the semester to go toward their member total. The 10 members with the highest amount of points at the end of the semester will have the opportunity to participate in a wet lab with a UGA CVM veterinarian at the UGA vet school at the end of the semester.
